How to use a bonsai bending tool
Patience is the key to a successful branch movement technique.

The rule of thumb is to always press less than you think, you can always press more at a later time when the branch assimilates into the position (like an orthodontist does with braces), but you can’t take back force once you apply it.
In time, the branch bends into a semi-permanent or even permanent position, depending on the length of time and type of wood.
Mark your bark if it is thin to prevent the tool from sticking to the bark. Putting a protective shield or a rubber piece will also help prevent damage from the bark.
